Oregon GNSS Users Group

Hands-On Surveying with UAS (Drones)

Once again, the Oregon GNSS Users Group shines with their latest educational opportunity in Salem, Oregon on Tuesday, August 23, 2016. The workshop, Hands-On Surveying With USA (Drones), is an all-day workshop, described by OGUG as follows:

The development of small Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) along with lightweight sensors and software have revolutionized aerial mapping. OGUG is pleased to provide Geospatial Professionals in Oregon a chance to witness these technologies in action.

The workshop is located at the NW Eola Viticulture Center of the Chemeketa Community College,215 Doaks Ferry Rd., Salem, OR 97304.It is an excellent venue for the event, with incredible views and awesome classroom facilities.

Registration is a bargain at $25 for OGUG members, while non-members will pay $75. However, since an OGUG membership is only $12 per year, I would recommend you sign-up for membership. OGUG is a great organization and an even greater collection of surveyors, so you’ll be in good company.

Coffee and pastries are provided in the morning, plus a catered lunch at noon. Note: the official agenda indicates that lunch will be “tasty”.

The agenda for the workshop is listed as follows:
