The ATV has become a constant necessity in order to save the truck from some rough travel.
Looks like you are in the Everglades. But I doubt it, ATV’s won’t work there. ?
My ATV and Side by side were invaluable when I was a solo operator. I’ve since sold the side by side, but kept the ATV.
I could not have tackled the jobs I did without them.
that tract in the picture has gotten over 5 inches of rain in the last two weeks- 3 of which came in about a 30 minute span last thursday while i sat under a barn eave wondering when i was going to be able to make it to the last section of corners way off in a tree line across a routinely plowed field.
made it across that field yesterday, but just barely. it was like surfing almost- that dirt had the consistency of pancake batter. truck wouldn’t have made it, and i MIGHT have made it on foot, but i’d still be there right now.

bought the atv last week- kind of impulsively, but this job both paid for it and immediately justified its need. it was the loss leader blowout model on the dealer’s mailer. having tested a bunch and bought one just a few years ago, i didn’t need to think about it much- i knew it was a deal i wouldn’t see again for a while, and it got me something new with a warranty- quickly- instead of the used one off of craigslist i was going to be spending weeks finding…
