TSC3 Copy Survey Styles
Posted by coeyv on December 13, 2011 at 2:47 amWe have two TSC3 collectors for our R8s. We had one serviced, and lost the survey styles. I was wondering if there is a way to copy the survey style settings from one collector to another. Thanks for any words of wisdom.

Are you using SCS900, Survey Controler, or their newest software?
Sure there is…
plug in a USB memory stick in the one….copy survey styles and whatever else you want onto it…
Plug USB stick into other collector…put it on that one.
On TSC3’s….survey styles are in the systems folder under Trimble Data.
or you can connect to computer with TSC3 one…activesync the styles off…hook up TSC3 two….activesync onto it.
But be careful when copying amongst different dc’s be careful with:
the necessary Bluetooth connections with different receivers – and connecting to the internal modem.
stored pin codes for cell phone cards and logins and passwords to connect to the internet or NTRIP connections must match the correct units.Chr.

And when I went under settings > Survey styles, the files said that they were read-only and could not be edited. :-S
Any luck? There are so many reasons why I’d love to be able to copy a survey style:
- custom GNSS styles for simultaneous occupation campaigns
- easy customization of hire kit
I am guessing it is a matter of compatibility between different versions of Trimble Access. But I bet there is no chance of a response from Trimble on here and I’ll probably need to post on Trimble forum. Wish the two could be merged eh?
