Modified Backpack to Carry SX10 and stuff into field
In another post I admitted to forgetting the prism on an SX10 job and others confirmed what I found – The difficulty of keeping things contained when working in the field with the SX10/TSX7, a couple extra batteries and of course… a prism. The trimble case the SX10 comes in stays at the airport, while the backpack goes into the field.
To solve this, I just had my neighborhood shoe repair guy (Chien Lu Ping) modify the external frame backpack I had for years. A soft case sewn into the bottom of the pack, while 2 snap buckles secure the SX10 from the carrying handle and the pack still stands upright!. A thick leather patch on the back secures the hand sewing job. Side cup can carry a bipod and 2-piece rod. The TSC7 fits into outside pocket and plenty of other places to stash accessories including the freaking Prism.
