If not broke, does it need to be fixed. (GPS Firmware)
I have a Topcon Hiper+ rover and Legacy E base RTK that is producing accurate survey information and working well together. The Legacy E has an different firmware date than the Hiper+ and both are 8-12 years in age.
If the system is working well, and always check accurately with State published Geodetic monuments and coordinates. What is the benefit to update the firmware. I have fear something might get missed up during the new firmware upload to the equipment.
If I should update firmware is there a step by step for a first time firmware update, firmware update for dummies checklist.
