FC5000 touchscreen unresponsive
The touchscreen on my FC5000 is intermittently unresponsive and becoming worse.
The recommended fix is to do a hard reset and the touchscreen will likely resume functionality for days, hours, or minutes.
I have used a mouse to try to change/trigger the touchscreen profiles through the icon on the screen when unresponsive but an error message displays saying the touchscreen profile is inaccessible.
An internet search indicates this is a common problem with Windows 10 and touchscreen devices.
The Device Manager shows a code 10 error -the device cannot start for 12cHID (Human Interface Device)
The solution is supposedly to reinstall the HID drivers or to reinstall Windows 10.
I decided to return the DC to the dealer who confirmed a reinstall for Windows 10 was the way to go but upon enquiring about progress was told a quotation for repairs is being prepared. I am thinking they may want to replace the screen which I don’t believe is required. (18 months old, limited use and well looked after)
I did a search and found a member here had a similar problem a few months back and was looking for advice but there was no mention of a remedy .
