@duane-frymire should be able to assist you, as his titles are NY Licensed Surveyor, Doctor of Law, Consultant surveying/land boundary. JAVAD Survey Product Sales person.

He’s little too far. I’m in NNJ.
How far would you be willing to travel? I could possible meet you half way somewhere in PA.
Sounds interesting, what are you thinking of comparing? Are you using on a network or base/rover? I get down that way occasionally but I’ll pass your contact info to Sean Joyce, he’s a bit closer and might be interested.
I’m afraid your unit would be dead in the water up my way in the woods and mountains, so probably not worth a trip up:) Sorry, couldn’t resist, just havin fun with ya.

Matthew, I’m in Jersey City. Where in PA are you ?
I encourage you to make the trip from NJ to Duane’s. Duane and I are practically neighbors. We all could meet, I can bring some Sokkia and Topcon. Be certain to have your snow tires on, we have about 12″ of snow on the ground, with a few more inches of lake effect on most days.

Last year at Nysapls someone presented Trimble vs Javad comparison. We could do something similar if time permits? I’m curious to see if Javad performs better under heavy canopy and if it acquires fix faster.
I’m on the Nysnet
Rick Brooks presented, I worked in the field with him and his crew and provided data and analysis for the presentation. I also gave a presentation in the exhibit hall on a tough GNSS site of 300 acres.
Going in, Rick’s premise was RTK is not suitable for some boundary projects. The JAVAD hit all monuments within the least squares error ellipse he had generated from long static sessions coupled with closed traverse. The Trimble was not able to do it, and gave one “fixed” position that was a couple feet off. I don’t recall what model he was using. So, he was right and wrong. Some RTK is not suitable for some projects while other RTK might be.
I can use nysnet but I find local base rover is better option for tough sites.
I read a bit of the brx6+ brochure. The aRTK looks interesting; have you tested that yet? Maybe we can set something up with Lee and get a few brands side by side.
That would be cool. Lee?

Sounds like a plan. Let me know when and where.
I am actually in central KY. I used to live in south central PA. I could meet in a town called Waynsboro. There are a couple of parks there that would be good testing sites. It is about an 8-9 hr drive for me but would be a fun exercise.
Looks like 6 hours for me. Would be good to see you again Matt, and get your expertise with JAVAD. I’ll talk with Lee and see if he would travel, I know he travels a lot anyway.
Yes, unfortualtley I do travel a lot. Next week I will be in:
Long Branch, NJ
Harrisburg, PA
Alliance, OH
Gents,
Let me know where and when. My associate wants to join with R10.
I am thinking of someplace like Penmar Park. 14600 Pen Mar/High Rock Road Cascade, MD 21719.
I am also thinking weather permitting maybe December 15 but need to check my schedule to make sure that will work. I will likely show up the day before and try and set some control for everyone to tie into.
Google High Rock at penmark park. You can see 3 states from there.
Matt,
I only have a rover on the NY State Dot. I’d have to stay in NY/NJ i think…
I doubt I could make that much of a drive. I would love to do a comparison but would want to make sure it could fit in everyone??s schedule.
I think that the other network services are paid services in the area I am speaking of so you could not work with those either. The only way that it could work out there is if your Carlson receiver has an internal radio. If it does then we can configure it to receiver the corrections coming from one of the other bases.
I understand. We could do that-BRX6+ has integrated uhf radio.
