Be nice if we could access that GIS system.
“…she said. ??When someone calls to ask for a map or document, I love to be able to say, ??Yes, I can get that!???
I call BS on that. I’ve tried unsuccessfully to get a piece or a copy of the ROW map and been flat out told “NOT AVAILABLE” by company policy. Told me the width and I stated “great.. and where is the centerline” which she couldn’t answer. Told me to use the fences. LOL.
Used to be a really nice lady in Omaha would get you what you need. Then they sold the RR. Maybe once they got it all in order they will again provide access to the mapping. We can hope!!
Bartlett and West purportedly handles all of the “ROW Maps” for BNSF. After you pay for them they send you “Track Maps” or “Track Charts” that have no ROW data whatsoever. Seems like fraud to me. I was told a number of years ago by a BNSF Surveyor that he was told by their “legal department” not to release any ROW data to anyone for any reason. They have held to that steadfastly ever since. The bottom line is that they don’t seem to care where their ROW is located.
