Found this site yesterday.  I do GIS in the oil and gas field. I'm not a surveyor (past or present) but I have a couple of questions about some old equipment.  Hopefully someone can tell me the correct forum to go to.

A friend of mine just lost her husband to a massive stroke.  While cleaning up, she came across some surveying equipment and wants to get rid of it.  I told her I would help.  Didn't know what she had until I started researching.

Inventory includes:

Wild T3 (in case with instructions), Wild T1, Keuffel & Esser 74-0000 in case, and Buff & Buff level and transit.  I do have some pics and serial numbers.

She just wants a fair price.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

David

Usually these guys are all over this stuff. I am surprised you have not had any reply's yet. Maybe post again in a different category, people sometimes have their settings set to only see certain ones.

Does the Buff & Buff equipment have the tripod with them?

Maybe it's the thread title. "Widow with Old Survey Stuff" would probably draw the moths to the flame.

Fair warning - a "fair price" is going to be a few hundred dollars, maybe a thousand for the lot.

With just a little research, the Wild T3 is worth that much.

Good luck. You might get more if you have the time and inclination. Let us know how it turns out.

Search ebay for similar items and/or google the instruments brand name and have fun.  😉

I'm sure the T3 is worth some dough (especially if it's in good working shape.  I can't give you a fair estimate on the values, although I am sure some here can.  As with most older items it's worth what someone is willing to pay for it.  Getting bids on ebay is going to do you best, because there will be a wider audience of collectors and others.  Putting it in your local newspaper might not get any bites, and most would probably want to pay a lot less.

I've always wanted to get a T2 but I would probably not be able to afford what it's worth.
