New to RPLS
Posted by OleManRiver on March 9, 2020 at 3:34 pmJust saying hello. I am new to this forum. Also making a come back into the Land Surveying side of the house. Been a Orbital scientist for the GPS constellation in the good ole USA. Prior to that Geodetic Surveying and Land Surveying. Looking to get back into the Land Survey Boundary work soon. I am currently in the Virginia area.

Welcome to the forum! Glad you could join us. ????
Your friendly, virtual neighborhood Webmaster@wendell Thank you.
Welcome. Please add as much as you can. Variety is good.
@holy-cow Thank you. Well I started in the early 90’s Land Surveying for an Engineering and Surveying firm. T-1A Stadia Topo then an old Lietz total station for staking out and a field book. Then on to the SDR 24 electronic field book. Wild and Wild soft, SD33 4000 Trimble GPS – the TSC1 and the Trimble 4800 . Onto Lieca and Geodometers. All Land Boundary, Subdivision and commercial staking Mortgage Loan surveys etc.. etc… Geodetic Surveyor and GIS in the USMC. Supported the Trimble line of products after the USMC and then onto Geodetic Orbital Scientist for NGA for the GPS constellation. Now special 3d scanning and stake out , Metrology measurements and such. Miss the Boundary work and trying to get back into that.

I am currently in the Virginia area.
Where in Virginia? I may be looking for staff in the next few weeks…depends if my client gets a 25 mile gas pipeline project or not.
@james-fleming about half way between Fredericksburg and Richmond. I am in Ruther Glen.
@paul-landau Yes for sure. Seems to be a wealth of knowledge on this site for sure. And some post bring back many memories from when I was in the private sector surveying.
Much Welcome!
I just saw your reply! I was 0261 from 1994-1999. I have a few fellow Marines who still work @ NGA in VA. I just started getting into boundary work after mostly focusing on GIS and GNSS for local government.
Howdy and welcome to this site ??
In my opinion, you well get the best information available on any topic from this forum. I’m not saying you don’t get the best elsewhere, but you will always get the best here.
@firestix Awesome. I have been out of pocket working away from my desk for a while so just now getting back on here again.. We need to connect fellow Topo ite LOL…
