This is a first for me - Seeing Bei Dou satellites on my Topcon receiver.
Watching a HiPer HR connected to RTK Network, tracking 8 GPS, 7 GLONASS, 4 SBAS (not used in RTK solution), 3 Galileo, and for the first time ever 4 Bei Dou satellites.
Total in view is 21 positioning satellites.
Admit it: You can't really retrace the footsteps of a surveyor who only had GPS, Russian, and European satellites if you are using Chinese satellites too.
You really need to disable those satellites that weren't part of the original survey.
Oh snap! That means all of the surveys done when GPS 2A-20 and GPS 2A-26 were still around can't be retraced... And reading those almanacs and ephemerides are too tough to make sure that same sats are in exactly the same place... All this Kepplerian orbital mechanics stuff is beyond me... I'm going back to astro observations 😀
Well Stu I'll tell you, surfing's not a sport, it's a way of life, you know, a hobby. It's a way of looking at that wave and saying, "Hey bud, let's party!" - J. Spicoli
I see the Beido satellites as well but they are not used for the solution and neither are the Galileo ones.
I have been promised for a year now that I will have a 4 network solution for a network rover but so far it has not happened.
My Stripper Name is; Just A. Surveyor
Excuse me while I whip this out!
