Uploading Large Photos

Having trouble uploading images? They are probably too large. If you are trying to upload a photo directly from your camera without modification, it's probably going to be too big. The server has to process the image and attempt to make smaller versions for display on the website. If the images are too large, the server doesn't know that until it can assess the image, which means the whole thing has to upload before it can even try to do anything. So, to best deal with this, you should just make a point to resize your photos before uploading them here (or most other sites, for that matter). Some sites can handle it, but they probably have the budget to put into high end server hardware.

Anyway, here's a great resource for resizing images: http://www.picresize.com -- they obviously have the resources to handle it. Smile

Thanks for the info. I've added this small program to resize pictures instead of doing it online. ImageResizer. You use file explorer, click once on the photo to select and then right click or hover over the file name and right click. Choose resize picture and then a small window comes up with many options.
