Old School! Hilger & Watts No. 2 (1974) Vernier Theodolite and Sokkisha Leitz SDM3F06 Vernier Theo. with Leitz EDM
First, I’m not a surveyor; I’m disabled, not working, and supplement my income by buying items at auctions for resale.
I recently picked up a Hilger & Watts No. 2 Vernier Theodolite that dates from 1974. Excellent condition. I’m not an expert, but everything appears to work as designed. Very clean, controls move easily and smoothly. SEE PHOTOS HERE. $250 OBO.

I also have a Sokkisha-Leitz SDM3F06 Theodolite with Electronic Distance Measurement. Took me a little while to figure out most of the functions. As far as I can tell, it’s operational! I can focus on objects, and the vernier scales move as the body moves. I had the unit on my window sill, looking out to test the long-distance focus, and had the EDM Tone switch set to On. When the unit was square to the glass, I got a solid tone. This (to me) would seem to indicate that the IR laser is emitting and being reflected back into the unit, producing the solid tone. The side light is missing a spring that holds the top of the battery compartment down onto the batteries, but most hardware stores should have a replacement spring available. The side light works. The keyed control pad seems to work; I would press a different key and get a different display on the LCD. The vernier scale can be seen in the photos. Asking $400 OBO. PHOTOS OF THE UNIT.

Shipping costs could be fairly high, depending on where you are. I will offer a discount if you buy both units!
