A mentor and friend of mine died 5 years ago.  His wife has recently sent his items to auction.  This is short notice but the auction will be Saturday near Kokomo, Indiana:

She says "It is a multi owner sale.  His stuff is among all the other stuff.  Only pics of his stuff is the oak bookcase, and the flat files.  It just mentions survey items no pics of survey items.  There is 2 drafting tables, light table, 2 legal filing cabinets. Instruments and tripods. It is all there just not listed."

Quite a list.  Most of that stuff should go quick on any given day.  As for me, I think I have at least one (or equivalent) of everything listed above however.

...But I might be interested in the old hub cap. 😉

I didnt see any metal detectors. Also, what do you do with ANOTHER surveyor's rebar cap? I can think of some possibilities. But, none seem totally good. Like drive a rebar, with some other surveyor's cap, into your in-laws flower bed, or driveway....

If I had one that said Ted Dura Dura 666, I'd try to raise money for Wendell! That's the whole trouble with this. I can only think of BAD ideas! 

It really messes me up to wonder where's this surveyors old electronic files? Cad files? Such like.
