Me: Hello, how may I help you.
Him: I think I need a quick survey.
Me: Tell me the details. (Five minutes later) Me: I’ll put you on the list.
Him: We are planning to close on Friday.
Me: What?????
Him: That’s the only day he will be in town so we need to close on Friday.
Me: (Let’s just say it all went downhill very quickly after that..).

No way. Not if I dropped everything else I have going on already. We never even got around to discussing price.BTW, these are two large empty lots that need to be converted into two lots of different shapes. The adjoiners have VERY high dollar homes and other improvements and the back line is the Country Club.

Typical…
Realtors especially, who have no idea how much effort goes into completing a boundary survey! They all need it quick and easy but in return, you must wait until after closing, which in some cases last several months, to receive payment!Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
Maybe that was Cash Cow calling? I like Cash Cows, as much if not more than Holy Cows. Nothing personal.

I thought that was Paden’s feminist second cousin who married one of Holy’s relations and opted to keep both names. Add the hyphen to spell it properly, as in “Ms. Cash-Cow”.

So do my kids, they think I am one.
Ah yes, the country club. IMHO they just don’t get it.

I’m thinking of visiting some of our bovine brethren’s old country relatives next week 😉
No matter how many times a realtor sells houses, why are they always surprised to find out that the survey can’t be done in a few hours with a few minutes notice? Maybe in the big city you guys have hundreds of realtors who somehow rarely need surveys, but we deal with the same realtors and title companies every month or so, and they never learn that we cannot just drop everything and go do their survey yesterday.

Oh, they know. They just act like they don’t in the hope they can buffalo you. Either that or they are putting on a show for their client, who is sitting across the desk. Play along.
Play along……you mean like offering to trade their commission for your salary…..if you get it done by closing? Ask them exactly how much that commission is….
This was the land owner, himself. He owns the land outright. It is a cash deal. Apparently not worried about title insurance.
The only problem is that the party who laid out the subdivision 30+ years ago didn’t like side lines that were perpendicular to the main street. These guys want a new sideline between one lot and the other that is perpendicular to the main street and gives each lot the same acreage as each has now, or as close as possible.
I COULD do it. But, I will not, even if they offered to pay double. Bad behavior encourages future bad expectations. The sooner people are told NO the sooner they begin to align with normal business practices.

Have fun in the rain and fog, me and SWMBO are going to the beach. The beach, however, is going to be rather cold, highs and lows between 59-83 🙁
Please post pics of your escapades and have a great time! 🙂

Depends on how much Cash it has on it. 😉
Don’t you all know that the world is going to end this week.
Everyone who doesn’t get their job finished by friday is subject to doom and unmitigated failure. At least that’s what it feels like talking to them….

Exactly, I had a gentleman call me friday last week asking if I could provide a survey of a 10 ac nursery for a meeting he had with the county on the 21st this week. He could not understand that I simply couldn’t provide the service requested in that time frame. Even if I didn’t have major construction projects underway and a backlog of work. After listening to all the reasons he needed the survey so quickly and why the “rush” was because of the county I had to tell him there was nothing I could for him. He basically called me an @$$hole and told me I was costing him two months and hung up. Oh well I’m sure I didn’t want his business anyways.

Doesn’t sound like a gentleman to me. These guys that think everyone is their minion, probably have a hard time getting any cooperation.
