Status Conference
Posted by Skeeter1996 on January 11, 2018 at 10:11 pmAnyone had any experience getting a Status Conference with a Judge on the status of a civil law suit? Does it piss off the Judge and is it worth the $500 to request. It?
Also anybody know if there are ramifications of contacting a Judge about the status of a case outside legal channels, ie calling him on the telephone?

Harassing a judge at his home may, or may not, affect the outcome of your case, but it will certainly land you in a lot of legal hot water. Don’t do it.
Unless I have some business deal that involves a judge or run into one that I know, I do not call a judge at their residence or talk to them at all.
Ask the DA’s office about what they can tell you of the docket schedule.
My first goto would be to chat with an Attorney that I knew well and get their spin on how to find that out.
They don’t discuss the case with anyone until they make a ruling with the exception they need your testimony or to clarify information.
I wouldn’t request a status conference without the help of an Attorney who knows the Judge well. I’ve done it with good effect. Some don’t mind, others will use every tool they have to express displeasure.
As for direct contact, you will get one of two outcomes. You will either suffer legal consequences or things will go very bad. A third possibility is both…
heck- go for it- tell us how it turns out…. ?
I am buddies with three guys who all have become judges. Fortunately, I have not had a reason to appear in their courts. It might be similar to trying to change someone’s view of you when they’ve known you since you were in diapers, and may have done some of the needed diaper changing .
?? You might layoff the wacky tabaccy a little. That post is way out there.
My initial feelings we’re it wouldn’t be a good thing to do. I know how I feel when Realtors are hounding me to get a job done. My initial feelings usually tend to be pretty good.
Phone call, no
Note taped to brick and thrown through window, affirmative.
Had a high school-aged young man assisting me on a survey of a nursing home in the next county. Decided it might be a good idea to step inside and let the manager know what we were going to be doing before some of the residents got excited by seeing us a foot from their windows at times. In our brief chat with her, she asked where we were from. After telling her, she said she had lived there for several years. When my helper told her his parents’ names, she asked if his name was Derek. He said it was. She said, “I used to change your diapers.” referring to a time when she was his babysitter. I’m sure his face has never been redder than it was at that moment.
Are you in diapers yet? You know you come into this world shitting your pants and you go out that way.
Still holding my own………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..on a good day. ? ? ? ? ?
