Support, training and warranty issues would be the first consideration I would have.

Hi, I am from and am currently residing in Singapore. There is no authorised dealer that goes by the name of Arico Surveying. Hope this saves you some money and time

Well, the address that Arico Surveying lists on their website, 65 Pasir Panjang Rd., Singapore 118506 SINGAPORE, looks like an apartment building of some sort, Obviously, keeping overhead very low is what enables them to offer Dane such great deals on equipment and pretty much everything.

https://www.google.com/maps/place/65+Pasir+Panjang+Rd,+Singapore+118506/@1.2746244,103.7963782,3a,15y,198.55h,91.77t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s4e5UCRIqTP1Ki4x2Jw_bDQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!4m5!3m4!1s0x31da1bbf10eb5ce1:0x8d4eeecf7f69310a!8m2!3d1.273761!4d103.796365?hl=en

I feel certain that they have now turned the corner in their early supply chain problems that are documented here:

Dane,
You probably noticed that their websites usually hang out at the very last few pages of your search. They'll typically going to be asking you to wire them money with no guarantees.

Dear Mr. Ince:

In anticipation of your order of the advanced surveying equipment that we feel sure you have in mind, we have already transfered the sum of USD$ 11,150.75 into another account to make room for your pending wire transfer. As you know, international transfers are the most secure and trustworthy method of payment, so if for any reason the advanced surveying equipment does not meet your most exacting standards, we will be able to cheerfully refund all monies via reverse wire transfer to return the funds to your account without delay.

I am attaching photos of the most advanced surveying equipment we have just last week taken delivery of so that you will be able to compare the same to the requirements of your most exacting standards.

Awaiting your order, we remain,
Most sincerely,

Dr. Heinrich Wildebeest & Associates

Best regards,
Kent McMillan, RPLS Austin TX

My advice is to stay away from any so called dealer in that area, Malaysia, or Indonesia. I got burned last year when trying to buy a Topcon robot from Baltic Surveying based in Singapore as well. They billed me through PayPal and I payed them about $6000. A week later, the instrument still hadn't been shipped, the seller coming up with all kinds of excuses like weekends, national holidays and so on. After about 10 days I opened a fraud case with PayPal who was actually reluctant to believe me, in my opinion. To make sure I didn't lose my money I called American Express as well , since their card was charged by PayPal and they got it back. It took about 2 months to see the money in the account.

I had the same experience with PayPal when I bought a plotter from a company that didn't exist. Amex saved me. If you have to use PayPal, charge it on plastic.

These are the companies that cause INSURANCE companies to say "Replacement cost is only 3250.00, Cause we found it on the internet..." etc.
I recommend that you send an offering to Kent McMillan or Associates. At least you will KNOW where it went!
🙂

Surveying is more than a Job----it is a passion to provide a foundation for future generation, that is beyond reproach.
